DSD-Professionals BizBuzz Edition 1
————————————
We’ve been saying for months now that we were going to launch a set of podcasts and we’re finally pulling this project from the back burner to the front. BizBuzz is a podcast we are now producing to share with our viewers and listeners information, news, and reviews about activities happening in and around the Digi-Scrap Industry.
This info will come from blogs, forums, websites, podcasts, and videocasts that we are aware of from all over the web. This first edition may seem like a commercial for DSD-Pro, but it really isn’t. We’re just super excited to see some great stuff going on here! And what better place to start than in our own backyard?! The resources we share today are available to our business associate members at the Executive membership level as well as the FREE membership level - through our networking community. If you aren’t already a member now’s the time to join!
So, what’s the buzz inside our business association these days? Well we’ve had some great words of advice shared and several new tutorials posted in the networking community recently. Click the podcast link to listen to what the buzz is all about. Then use the links below to access more detail in the FREE tutorials and coaching areas of our networking community!

We are Getting our Training Program Up and Running
In my last blog post I mentioned that I’ve been busy behind the scenes working with our new consultants. Well, fellow business associates, I think it’s time I introduce you to a couple of very special people. We recently increased our leadership team by three new members. These talented business consultants are ready to start sharing with our association lots of good information to help us grow our businesses even more! I hope you’ll help me welcome to our DSD-Pro Education Team:
TrishTrish lives in NE Indiana. She started her digi-scrapping 4 years ago with a desire to do something with all of the digital photos of her grandchildren that were collecting on her hard drive! Over the years she gained knowledge and experience in several different graphic software applications. Today her choice digi-scrapping software is Paint Shop Pro. Trish has worked behind the scenes in two online stores and forums and has served as a Design Assistant as well. She has hands on experience with using Zen Cart software, developing digi-scrap challenges in the genealogy/heritage arena (which is another passion of hers) and creating Combined Designs too. Since leaving her sales job she’s been developing her web-based business, diving straight into niche marketing with blogging, article writing, ebooks, Google Adsense, list building, advertising/promotion and selling niche specific products. She brings to the team her supervisory and team leadership skills as well as her experiences in training people on computer software usage. Trish says, “I really enjoy helping others to be able to help themselves! I am a big believer in the power of positive thinking.” Trish currently blogs at Digital Scrapbooking Marketing Mainstay - sharing with her audience product and site reviews along with general information about digiscrapping. She also helps administrate Stone Accents Studio and you can find her at RAKScraps too! |
JamieJamie is a freelance graphic artist, an entrepreneur, and a self-proclaimed techie geek. She schooled at Alexandria Technical College in Minnesota where she gained skills in marketing, design, illustration, layout, darkroom works and she picked up some business skills too. Her work and life experiences have lead her to opportunities in several states in the USA where she has taught computer classes and worked in the Oriental Trading Company art department laying out catalog pages and setting up photo shoots. After she married and started a little family of her own, she dabbled in the rubber stamp business and launched her own company, Diakonos Stamps. In time her creative spirit returned to the computer and digital designs for scrapbooking. She has developed a web based business that she markets through her website, helped a friend open a retail store, implemented a POS system in that store, and worked in customer service too. She has wonderful insight in the retail world and invaluable experience with customer service. She also has a background in the areas of communication as a speaker and writer. Jamie’s personal goals remain focused on her Freelance work where she’s now helping out at DSD-Professionals on our Education Team, sharing with fellow business owners more ways to strengthen our businesses. |
Our new consultants have a wealth of experience, skills, and knowledge to share with us! I’m looking forward to learning what they have to teach! I hope you are too!
Make the Most of Today
I’ve been off the blogging routine for a while spending time with family, and also working behind the scenes with our new DSD-Pro consultants. As you can see I’m not so great at juggling blogging, my scrapping business, and all the other things in my life without something going undone (ie long pauses between blog posts sometimes). I think I left my wonder woman cape at the dry cleaners again. ROFLOL I openly admit that I can’t do all things all the time. Managing my energies, my time, and my activities is an area where I have to apply conscious efforts or I lose perspective. I wish this was an area that came as natural to me as my collage art does.
The Time Movie
Is this a challenge area for you or anyone you know? There’s an excellent online movie clip called The Time Movie at http://thetimemovie.com/ that I think is worth breathing in and then sharing out to others! I encourage you to give it a viewing and then share it with your digi-scrap friends!
This movie is presented by Scott Stratten - a fellow business owner who’s made a career at teaching others to keep time management in perspective with the rest of their business activities. I’ve been a fan of his for quit some time now. Scott is an entrepreneur on the motivational speaker circut. He focuses his attention on how we look at our lives in negative and positive ways, how we spend our energies and our days, and how we prioritize the “things” in our lives. Whether he’s serving as a personal coach or sharing his guidance on stage to a crowd of business managers - he’s got a lot to say about how we manage our thoughts and our time in relationship to our work.
Thank Goodness It’s Monday
This spring, Scott is launching a new book called Thank Goodness it’s Monday, A Guide to Enjoying Work, Home and the Drive in Between. If his book is as good as his on stage presentations, then it will be a winner by my terms and a resource for me to return to time and again. I’m looking forward to seeing it hit the shelves. You can grab more information about Scott’s book at his website by the same title: http://www.thankgoodnessitsmonday.com/ where you can also hear his podcast interview with Mr. Positive, another one of the “good guys” who’s words I enjoy daily.
