DSD-Pro is Preparing for Change

Announcement:
We are getting ready to launch the new site with our improved products and services!
You’re going to be seeing a few changes in the DSD-Pro network
as we prepare for the launch.
These changes will be happening in phases.

Phase One:
• New membership site posted live with new products and services (for current members only)
• Download center activated
• Site components activated

Phase One will run Friday, 22 Aug through Friday, 29 Aug.
The network may experience some minimal downtime during the software loads on the first day.

Phase Two:
• New forum software loaded and info migrated from current forum to new one
• Blog moved to new server location

Phase Two is scheduled to run Saturday, 30 Aug through Sunday, 31 Aug.

For these two days, both forums will run side by side for archival purposes.
Then this forum will shut down after all data is migrated.
The blog may be completely offline during this time as well.

Warning: We will actually start re-working the forum strings prior to the phased activities. Consequently we’ll be closing off commenting and such on some of the strings so there’s less data to move over and hopefully will make the transfer go much smoother.

Please Note:
We will be closing registration on Friday the 22nd and re-opening registration on the 31st. This is so we can get current accounts transferred over without leaving anyone behind. Current members will have a week to experience the new site before registration is reopened. This gives you an opportunity to sign up as an affiliate and do a bit of marketing ahead of time if you want to put some cash in your pocket through affiliate sales.

Rebuilding to Better Meet our Needs

Our Blog has been inactive for a while now because we are in the process of rebuilding the structure of our web network. As our business association began experiencing growth in this year we recognized the need for a more streamlined approach to delivering our services. Rather than adding more info to later be transferred over to the new web environment, we’ve opted to keep our postings limited until the new site construction is completed. This will help our IT team make the final data transfers more smoothly and much more quickly. It also allows us to focus our energies on completing the site changes for our associate members.

Please bare with us as we are putting the final touches on the new site infrastructure. The improved site will offer a better navigation system and a cleaner, more efficient method for finding what you are looking for. Less confusion and streamlined processes will help us all make better use of our time as we continue to grow our digi-scrap businesses.

The new website is expected to go live during first week of August (if all goes well) with the final data transfers occurring throughout the rest of the month. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you in the mean time.

DSD-Professionals BizBuzz Edition 2

Today I’m sharing some goodies from the world of online videos. First up is the fairly new website called REVVER. Revver is the first viral video network that pays. REVVER connects video makers, sharers, and sponsors in a free and open marketplace that rewards you for sharing the videos.

How Does Revver work?

It’s really simple: you upload a video to REVVER, and then they attach an ad and their unique tracking technology to “Revverize” the video. Any ad revenue generated by your video is split 50/50 between you and Revver. Since ads are attached to the video itself and dynamically served wherever your video travels, there’s no restriction on how your videos are distributed. The more people email your video, post it to other websites or download, the more money you could earn.

You can then track your video’s performance through your Revver account, which tells you exactly how many times your video is watched, and how much money you’re earning. It gets better! To increase the value of the entire Revver network, they also reward people for sharing videos. You can earn 20% of ad revenue for sharing videos by other Revver members. The remaining revenue is split 50/50 between the maker and Revver.

Can Butterfly Reports Help Digi-Scrap Business Owners?

DSD-Pro isn’t my only online business endeavor. But it is the one I’m enjoying the most these days. The main reasons is because of the friendships and the great business partnerships I’ve been lucky enough to develop over the years. Digi-Scrappers are just such fun to hang out with! I really like that we are a group of people who enjoy sharing with each other so much. Today I have a RAK for you of a different flavor. Different because it’s not free digi-art, but instead it’s an introduction to an opportunity for you to add another stream of income to your digi-scrap business.

Something That’s Not for Everyone

This is not a sales pitch. Whether you decide to take advantage of this opportunity or not is totally up to you and I’m not here to convince you that you should. I’m just offering the information in case you’re an entrepreneur who uses newsletters, articles, or other information products in your digi-scrap business. I know that I can not meet the DSD-Pro mission (to help Digi-Scrap business owners be successful) by screwing up our reputation with a bunch of sales articles telling you about one “get rich quick” scheme after another. Scrapbook Printing and Binding - Who do You Use and Why?

I’m working on a project with a 40-page, 12×12 size album that needs to be professionally printed and bound. There are so many choices available these days and finding a company that fits within my business budget is only one of the criteria I consider when choosing the right folks to work with. Quality is my number one concern and customer service is a high priority for me as well. So as I start my quest to find the perfect company to meet my needs I’ve come across MyPicTales.

This is a new company that launched in 2007. I recently had an opportunity to talk with the owner of the company. I found Prathibha to be contagiously energetic and eager to meet her customer’s needs. She’s passionate about the quality of their products and has a high level of interest in working directly with professional photographers and scrapbookers. She’s open to feedback and suggestions from our market and this is the main reason why I’ve decided to give MyPicTales a go for this project I’m working on.

As I work my project, I’m going to provide input to our readers here at DSD-Pro as well as to Prathibha. I’ll tell you about my experience at the website, during the development and ordering process, and let you know what I think of the final product when it arrives at my door. I hope that you will find this information helpful to you as you consider who to choose for your printing and binding services too.

Interview with Digi-Scrap Entrepreneur Trish Frye

Trish Frye is the owner of a business blog called Digital Scrapbooking at Marketing Mainstay. She uses this blog to offer general information and product reviews to digital scrapbook hobbyists. She’s also recently launched a new online directory for digi-scrapbook websites that can help website owners rank higher in search engines by encouraging your website visitors to “vote” for your site once you’re in the directory listing. It’s called Simply Scrappin Sites and it’s a service that’s provided free of charge with a simple ad swap agreement. We’ve been saying for months now that we were going to launch a set of podcasts and we’re finally pulling this project from the back burner to the front. BizBuzz is a podcast we are now producing to share with our viewers and listeners information, news, and reviews about activities happening in and around the Digi-Scrap Industry.

This info will come from blogs, forums, websites, podcasts, and videocasts that we are aware of from all over the web. This first edition may seem like a commercial for DSD-Pro, but it really isn’t. We’re just super excited to see some great stuff going on here! And what better place to start than in our own backyard?! The resources we share today are available to our business associate members at the Executive membership level as well as the FREE membership level - through our networking community.
