Rebuilding to Better Meet our Needs

> Posted by PChip | Published in: Administrivia | (3) Comments-Add Yours!

Our Blog has been inactive for a while now because we are in the process of rebuilding the structure of our web network. As our business association began experiencing growth in this year we recognized the need for a more streamlined approach to delivering our services. Rather than adding more info to later be transferred over to the new web environment, we’ve opted to keep our postings limited until the new site construction is completed. This will help our IT team make the final data transfers more smoothly and much more quickly. It also allows us to focus our energies on completing the site changes for our associate members.

Please bare with us as we are putting the final touches on the new site infrastructure. The improved site will offer a better navigation system and a cleaner, more efficient method for finding what you are looking for. Less confusion and streamlined processes will help us all make better use of our time as we continue to grow our digi-scrap businesses.

The new website is expected to go live during first week of August (if all goes well) with the final data transfers occurring throughout the rest of the month. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you in the mean time.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to leave a message for us here on the blog, in our networking community or email me at paintchip[at]dsd-professionals[dot]com. It’s been our pleasure to bring you the services and products you’ve requested thus far. Look for better product/service delivery within the coming weeks.

Thank you for your patience at this time. :)

The Look of Confusion

Yes - we know the site is a bit messed up. Something is going a little screwy with the new server. So I guess we are destined to have the same growing pains as any other web site. Geeez, I hate when that happens!

So if you log in and find things look totally out of wack, please note that we are aware of the mess and we are working to get things resolved. Even with the weird-looking graphics and the layout just plain messy - the articles and postings are still viewable and may be be acceptable to print as well.

Hopefully we’ll have things back up and running correctly within short order. Thanks for understanding!

Oh the fun associated with launching a new blog — it’s great isn’t it?!  I write for several blogs and have designed a few websites that include your average front page, community forums, photo galleries, and blog platforms.  Recently I even dabbled in the wiki world.  This is the first time I’ve launched a Wordpress- designed blog on a server using my own domain.  Our service provider offers many handy tools for managing the site. However we do have some special needs that go beyond the support services offered, so it will take us a little longer to get things set up the way we want.  How much time I don’t honestly know, but I’m certain we’ll get’er done (as they say in the south).

I’m one of those who works better under a time crunch and maybe that will help me here as much as it does in my art studio. The current milestone we are striving for is to have the blog template (graphics and all) set up during the next two weeks with much of the work happening over the weekends.  We are preparing some great articles for our viewers to tap into as well.  We’ve marked the calendar for our official launch date the last week of July.  Between now and then we’re still tweaking the business plan, mapping out the marketing strategies, and building our list of “must have’s” for .  Want to see what’s on the list so far?
