What are You Doing to Celebrate Digital Scrapbooking Day?

There’s a new initiative in the works to celebrate family heritage through digital scrapbooking. November 3rd is the date set aside for this event.

Quoted from the DSD official blog site: “Digital Scrapbooking Day was first established by Triscape, Inc. in 2007 to create awareness for digital scrapbooking – not only as a creative way to document and display memories, but also as a means to archive photos and memorabilia safely digitally. Digital Scrapbooking Day (DSD) is intended to act as a catalyst to set aside some time at least annually to digitally documenting your personal history. As the creators of FxFoto digital scrapbooking and photo organization software, Triscape is in a unique position to promote, appreciate, and celebrate this holiday.”

…. “But Digital Scrapbooking Day isn’t just about digital scrapbooking, the hobby – Digital Scrapbooking Day celebrates all that today’s technology can do to help preserve your precious memories. That means that anyone can participate in Digital Scrapbooking Day – scrapbookers (whether traditional, “hybrid”, or digital), photographers, genealogists, memoirists, personal journalists, bloggers, podcasters, and related retailers all will find something to celebrate on Digital Scrapbooking Day.”

So here’s my question to you - If you are in the digi-scrapping business, what are you doing to incourage your customers and forum members to participate in this day? Now’s the perfect time to put together special sales, contests, and other events wrapped around this new day of family remembrance!

Late is Better than Not at All

I didn’t find out about this event until just this week.  I read about it at MarketingMainstay.com where the blogger mentioned the Tailgate Party announcement posted at  Hummie’s World.  Her tailgate party was actually a party-before-the-party blog carnival where all the participants submitted heritage LO’s.  What a fun and catchy idea!  Good on you Hummie for being so inventive!  Unfortunately I missed out on catching this carnival ride.  But you can see the great articles that were submitted over at the Legacy Lady’s blog where Kayla hosted the event.

Update/Correction (25 Aug):  I was reading several articles on Hummies blog and apparently was trying to catch a nap at the same time.  Cuz I confused her monthly carnival with her tailgate party.  Her party continues through 3 November and she’s handing out goodies between now and then.  So we’re not too late to join the party!  I’ll be jumping in for sure now!  I hope you will too!

Digital Scrapbooking Day Events Announced Soon!

Since hearing about this celebration our team started brainstorming some ideas for how we might encourage participation from our website too. The ideas are still generating in our little brains, but we’ll be announcing our events sometime very soon! So keep your eyes open to see what’s happening here at DSD-Pro on November 3rd!
