Autoresponders are a great business tool and are readily available to any webpreneur.  Whether you sell dog biscuits, dating services, or digital scrapbook art - using an autoresponder is a wonderful way to help you generate additional income.  This is the first article in a series on how to build multiple streams of income by integrating an autoresponder program into your digital scrapbooking business.

In this series we’ll cover using auto-responders to provide helpful info to your customers to increase customer service.  I’ll share with you the real secret behind making money using auto-responders as one of your main tools in the sales process.  I’ll offer you several reasons why using an auto-responder to deliver your newsletter.  And how you can simplify delivering products to your customers, even when you are gone on vacation!  I’ll walk you through an emailing campaign for announcing a new designer in your store and also share with you a set of videos about setting up and using an autoresponder program.

So what is an Autoresponder?

An autoresponder is an inexpensive - or even free -method of quickly responding to your potential customers and deliver information to your current customers.  What these programs do is automatically respond to incoming messages (usually emails or online forms) as soon as they are received.

Examples of Ways to Use Autoresponders:

In the case af an email message you can set up an autoresponder to reply to messages sent to a particular email address.  For example when someone who is looking for an opportunity to be featured here at DSD-Pro sends a message to our guest relations email address, they will immediately get a reply back from us saying, “we received your message and will get back to you soon.”  I use an autoresponder to deliver that message on my behalf.  It lets the sender know that their email made it through to our mailbox.

In the case of an online form submission you can set up an autoresponder to send a message to someone who has given you their email address in a form you provided on your website.  For example, when someone subscribes to our Business Reports they automatically receive a message back in their email telling them how to get their free report 50+ Ways to Earn Money in the Digi-Scrap Industry.  I don’t manually send this info to each subscriber.  Instead I use an autoresponder to deliver that message for me.

So whether 5 people subscribe that day or 500, either way they get their product immediately.  Furthermore they receive their new business reports automatically, via an autoresponder that I’ve set up to deliver the reports on my behalf.
