Blog Carnival - How Do You Market Your Digi-Scrap Products

This is the first blog carnival we’ve hosted. The theme for this carnival proved to be rather difficult. Looking for articles specifically about marketing to digi-scrap customers wasn’t an easy task. Which tells us once again, that there simply aren’t enough resources on the web to assist professionals working in this industry.

That’s why DSD-Pro was started!

The web offers a huge source of training products for scrappers wanting to learn how to create layouts.  There’s a willingness to share digi-scrap training as it pertains to using specific digi-art products like templates or digi-papers too.  But it’s hard to find information on discussion items for business owners working in digi-scrap career fields. As any digi-scrap professional can attest to, information about marketing avenues is just one of the subjects that isn’t talked about much in the digi-scrap circles. It’s also hard to find assistance from fellow digi-scrap professionals on how to set up e-commerce sites, blogs, develope kits, and many other items concern for new digi-art business owners. But DSD-Pro is here to assist in these areas.

In our continuing efforts to provide you with information and assistance to help grow your digital scrapbook businesses:

Welcome to the August 20, 2007 edition of Professional Digi-Scrap Industry Info. Carnival

Here are our carnival articles for this go around:

1. Angi Pederson at ScrapbookingMarketing.com shares many articles about ways to market your products and she offers you assistance through various services too. Her article on Using Press Releases as Marketing Tools gives some insite on using press releases to draw attention to your business.

2. Jeri Parks used a rather new form of marketing to get her press release seen and heard by prospective customers. Check out the narrated slide presentation/video she’s now using to help get the word out about her Creative Classroom products and services. This is a hot idea that’s worth checking into if you are looking for a new way to market your digi-products.

3. If you market your products using a blog for one of your communication alleys, check out Seth Godin’s Blog article titled “How to get traffic for your blog” where he shares with his viewers 56 ways to consider! Which of these ideas could you incorporate into your digi-art business?

4. No matter what form of marketing you decide to use, product positioning can assure there will be more power in your punch. I wrote an article describing a brainstorming session to develope a product positioning strategy for one of our products. Give it a read and see if it will help you strengthen your marketing efforts too.

5. I would really be cheating you out of something if I didn’t take a minute to once again tell you about blog carnivals and how they can help you market your websites and your products. Read our article about how they can be used to increase your traffic and then, jump in and join carnivals that share your customer audience.

That concludes this edition of our carnival.

UPDATE:  Our Blog Carnivals have been put on hold as they seem to be more relevant to blogs focused on digi-scrap hobbyist markets rather than digi-scrap professionals.  We encourage you to still participate in blog carnivals that are relevant to your target market.  I know we will be!
