This is the fifth posting in the “Career Paths Article Series.” Previous articles in this series include the: short series overview; reviews on the career path for product design and sales, consulting and training, and the digital scrapbook designer.

Digi-Scrap Store Owner: This is another popular career path for hobbyist, turn careerist.  This particular career requires the digital professional to invest significant time, money, and energies into their business.  Some go down this career path by owning an online store that they alone sell from.  While others choose to have multiple artists sell from their store.

To operate an online store one must have in their business backpack; computer savvy, strong marketing skills, a knowledge of the industry, and the ability to work with customers as well as other artists.  It is strongly advised that store owners work closely with a lawyer and accountant to  make sure their business contracts and tax requirements are all being appropriately met.
