Career Path – DigiScrap Consultant/Trainer

This is the third article in the “Career Path Article Series.”  In the first article I simply gave a short overview of what this set of reviews will include - A description list of career paths digi-scrappers have developed during the last couple of years.  The second article was about the popular career field of product design and sales.   This article shares info with you about the world of…

Digital Scrapbooking Consulting and Training: To market yourself as a professional consultant or trainer in the digital scrapbooking field you really need to know your stuff.  This career path is for those who have developed an expert level of skill and knowledge in the field of scrapbooking as well as digital art that’s specific to digi-scrapping.

There is a vast range of training subjects to build your business around in this career field.

You can offer training on just about any subject from the basics of creating a scrapbooking page using pre-made elements to the nitty gritty how-to’s for making digi-kit inclusions.  Offering to consult through written works is a wonderful way to gain recognition in the career field as well.  So don’t be shy about offering your services to web content providers, magazines, or book publishers.

Training can be presented to groups of people or delivered in a one-on-one environment.  The presentation options include web-based or face-to-face instructions.   Like other careers in our industry you can work as an independent contractor or employee of someone else, as a sole business owner, or team up with others and form a consulting business.

To be a trainer or consultant doesn’t limit you to providing just services; you can also generate income through product sales, like training videos/cd’s and instruction manuals.  By combining your training and consulting services with product sales or other services such as scrapbook designing, you can provide youself with an additional source of income.  It’s a good business decision if you have the time and talent to do so!

Tomorrow we’ll cover the career of a digital scrapbook designer who creates pages and books for non-digi-scrappers.
