This week we took a little extra step to get our Networking Forums added into our blog by using an iframe to integrate the two scripts together.  You can see how the two work together by going to our Networking Forums page.  There are a couple of things we want you to take note of here.

One is that if you are a member of our business association and you access our forums for peer coaching and training, it’s so much easier to catch all the news from the central location of our blog while still accessing the forums without leaving this site to go to the other.  That mean one less bookmark in your ‘favorites’ list and fewer clicks to grab the information you want!

Also notice that by integrating the forum script with the blog script, our guests have easier access to the Digi-Scrap Buzz ads in our forums.  In case you are new to the site let me share with you that “The Digi-Scrap Buzz” is the ‘classified ads’ section of our website.  It’s where our business associates can advertise (at no cost) their products and services to the public.

Are You Taking Advantage of this Advertising Spot?

If you are a registered member of our site and you’re not taking advantage of this Digi-Scrap Buzz forum, then you’re missing out on some free advertising.  You’re also letting a link sharing opportunity slip right by and consequently losing an SEO benefit too.  That’s like leaving money on the table!

Integrating Web Components Using iframes Isn’t For Everyone

Using iframes to integrate web components isn’t always the best answer for every webmaster.  For this particular situation, we believe iframing was a good decision.   Later in the week Greg will be writing an article for those of you who are Word Press bloggers considering options for combining your forum software with your blogging software.  Naturally ‘iframing’ will be one of the methods he’ll be going into.

Look for that blog post later in the week.  If you want to be notified when he posts that one online, consider grabbing our RSS feed or subscribe to our email updates (use the form in the top right corner of our sidebar). Then when it’s posted you’ll know right away.
