Use B-2-B Kits to Grow Your Business

There are so many digi-scrap designers in the marketplace now. Some even say the market has too many. I don’t agree with them. When it comes to artists, I’m not so sure you can ever really over-saturate. However, I do agree that the competition for selling products to digital scrapbooking hobbyists is very strong.

Also on the rise are the number of designers creating for other digi-scrap professionals. If you already create for hobbyists, you may also find that there’s a market for selling those same products to your peers. Digi-scrap professionals are looking to maximize their time more now than ever before.  Products created to help them out, are of interest these days!

If you are handy with creating shapes, actions, brushes, textures, and other such things – you may want to consider a marketing campaign directed at attracting other designers. If you want to stick to papers, elements, and other finished products – then keep in mind the wave of professionals now freelance scrapping for others.

Working with other designers and business owners is just as fulfilling and profitable as working with hobbyists. DSD-Pro is one such business-to-business company. We’ve been working on building a set of products and services to help serve our peers. Along the lines of art-designs, we are creating B-2-B kits that come with a multi-use TOU policy.

The TOU’s for our DSD-Pro Business Associate members allows for reselling these items as-is, using them to create derivative works of art such as your own papers, and creating scrapbook pages for others as well. After the first of the year, we’ll be opening a new Pro-Shoppe and selling our products straight from our blog too. For now, the only way we make our B-2-B designs available are through the Business Association and they are shared with our members only.

Registration GiftWhen business owners register as a Level-One member (the free membership level) they have a B-2-B kit available to them right away that has a mixture of goodies in it for them to sample. It includes a couple of papers, a doodled element, some tags, a quick page, a ribbon, and a photo frame.

Our members at the Business Associate level get a new set of products each month. November KitThese free B-2-B kits are a part of the membership benefits. The first kit we put up in November and it included a set of papers and overlays handy for creating or adding to projects with a sea side theme. The papers with seahorses, jellyfish, and sand crabs are a bit different from the norm, while the sea shells and sand dollars are more traditional for many scrappers.

This particular set of items is no longer available free. Because our free B-2-B downloads are only online for a month. When each new kit gets loaded, the previous one comes off the shelf.

December BA kitNow during the month of December our Business Associates can pick up a set of 6 Vintage Framing Mats. These B-2-B items range from a slightly distressed look to down-right stained and dirty looking. Depending on what types of projects you have sitting on your digital work table, these may be just the addition you were looking for. With this set of B-2-B goodies you don’t have to do so much work to accomplish your projects. The TOU let’s you recolor, redesign or simply include them as-is into your own works – straight away. This can save you so much time and effort when creating for your customers.

If you design works of art for others whether that be scrapbook pages or digi-scrap kits, you know that time is money. I encourage you to consider ways you can maximize your work hours and money by investing in time-saving activities and product tools to assist you in stretching your business dollars too.

There is a healthy body of designers who now market to peer professionals. So take advantage of their skills to help your business grow. On the flip side – there’s a healthy market of professionals looking for ways to help them accomplish their business goals too. So if you’ve got the right product to assist them – publicize that!

Whether your customers are other businesses, or hobbyists, I hope you are using the Standardized TOU Initiative icons in your product packaging.  It makes it so much easier for clients to understand how they can use the tools you are offering them!

  1. Great thinking Cindy. Getting together a ‘toolkit’of things that make designing quicker and easier is a great idea. I’ll give this a Stumble so other scrapbookers can share in this.

  2. [...] you remember the monthly B2B kit program we had for our Executive Level Associates?  Well this program is being discontinued, but [...]
