Tip for Day 11: Deciding on your purpose has been touched upon here before. Are you a businessperson exploring the scrapping industry, or a scrapper exploring business?
Both are valid. There is no wrong answer. To succeed, you will need both a creative streak and business acumen. Many argue that both of these can be learnt - some believe they are inbuilt talents.
I see beauty as an emotion - part of a wide range, a spectrum of emotion. Emotion comes from feeling. If you can’t feel, no emotion is evoked. I believe art is a representation that evokes feeling.
You can’t always predict that feeling. It may be of beauty, maybe something else. But people are willing to pay for that feeling. When enough people are willing to pay the right price, it can become a business.
So yes - I think that Beauty and Business go together. But I also believe that business can go with other emotions too.
Make your purpose in this and other ventures to create art. Make people feel through your work. Then use you business skills to capitalize on it.
